Dear colleague,
Thank you for your referral.
On exam, our patient was found to have stable proliferative diabetic retinopathy that has been previously been treated and currently does not require any intervention. I reiterated the importance of tight glucose control in preventing the worsening of their diabetic eye disease.
In addition, our patient was found to have increased cupping of their optic nerves, putting them at risk for glaucoma. Baseline glaucoma testing will be performed and I will follow them as a glaucoma suspect.
Thank you again for allowing me to participate in their care.
Sincerely,
Gintien Huang, M.D.
